Our most recent Bug Week included a variety of activities and events at different locations throughout Connecticut.

Insect Wonders at the Farm
All-Ages Event | Spring Valley Student Farm, 104 Spring Manor Road, Storrs, CT
This event is FREE and open to the public.
While at the farm you can:
- play Bug Jeopardy,
- take a bug tour,
- learn about beekeeping
- and see the vegetables we grow for the UConn Storrs campus.

Learn All About Connecticut Bees
All-Ages Event | This event is FREE and open to the public
Learn all about Connecticut's bees with the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History and The Last Green Valley.
- See specimens of local bees,
- learn about where and how they live,
- and how to tell them apart from wasps.

Ticks and other Parasites
with Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory
All-Ages Event | This event is FREE and open to the public
While at the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory at UConn, you will visit with the experts to:
- learn about ticks and other parasites, and have some hands on time with a dissection microscope! Samples in closed containers are welcome.
- Pro Tip: It's within walking distance to the UConn Dairy Bar so you might want to plan on stopping by for a sweet treat!

Jeepers Creepers with Riverside Reptiles
Youth | This event is FREE and open to the public
Get up close with some of nature’s most unusual — and often misunderstood — creatures with Riverside Reptiles! Jeepers Creepers features a fun mix of reptiles, amphibians, insects, arachnids, and other invertebrates. This program is best for kids ages 4-12, but all families are welcome!

Storytime and Craft
Youth | This event is FREE and open to the public
Learn about bugs through silly stories and songs! After, stay to play with bug-themed toddler toys and/or do a special buggy craft! Access crafts and activities year-round on our Activities page.

Bug Walks
All-Ages Event | This event is FREE and open to the public
The program includes:
- bug walks in the Extension gardens,
- face painting,
- craft activities,
- fun bug-themed snacks,
- visual displays and educators to answer questions,
- door prizes and more!
